The competition is stiff when it comes to CEW’s Beauty Awards, and this year was no exception. Nobody knows that better than fast-growing skin care brand Chuda, which walked off with the “QVC Beauty Quest” Award during the awards luncheon last month.
While every product and brand from CEW’s jammed-packed Product Demo Night was eligible for the QVC Beauty Quest honor; six finalists were tapped as finalists as a brand or product that, by QVC and CEW’s definition, had “a story that will resonate well with the QVC beauty customer.” 

The honor’s biggest takeaway is getting a spot on the powerful retail channel.

Fresh off that win, Happi checked in with Jane Terker, founder of Beauty Innovation Group and Chuda consultant, about Chuda’s “secret” old-world formula that contains fruits, flowers and minerals harvested from a mountain range in the country of Georgia. The blend known as Remedea Compound, has been enlisted by Chuda founder Dr. Elena Ocher, who knew about the compound’s history as a means to prevent infection and promote skin healing.
  
HAPPI: Tell us about the key ingredients that are at the heart of Remedea Compound.
Terker: The Remedea Compound is a closely guarded secret formula consisting of natural fruits, flowers, minerals and bee propolis, grown and harvested in the Caucusus Mountains of Georgia; Olea Europeaea (Olive) Fruit Oil; Rosa Damascena Flower Oil; Calcium Carbonate; Beeswax; Male Pine Flower Pollen; and Propolis.
 
HAPPI: What are the benefits? 
Terker: This compound has been used since the 10th Century to heal burns, abrasions and injuries to the skin, prevent infection and achieve healthy skin. It has been used in everyday life to treat burns, insect bites, abrasions, as well as in traumatic conditions to treat more severe injuries to the skin.
 
HAPPI: How was this incorporated into the line?
Terker: Dr. Elena Ocher served in the Russian Navy as a neurosurgeon and part of a medical corps of First Responders. The Remedea Compound was used to prevent infection and promote skin healing so wounds could heal more rapidly and where needed, skin could be grafted.
 
HAPPI: Tell us about the new products in the pipeline.
Terker: We have just launched a lotion with a broad spectrum SPF 30 sun protection. This combines the most effective sun protection, the skin healing properties of Remedea in a formula that is hydrating, lightweight and which dries down to a matte finish with absolutely no residual feel. Even those with sensitive skin, who can be challenged to find a lotion with SPF can use this is no issues. Perfect as a primer for makeup.  Soon to come is a Daily Exfoliating Cleanser. This product is gentle enough to use daily to remove any dead skin, dirt, grime and makeup which allows your skin care to work much more effectively. In development is a lightweight serum which will enhance radiance, diminish discoloration, hydrate and be a perfect first step to your daily skin care routine.
 
HAPPI: What will these offer to your fans and new customers?
Terker: The Sheer Hydrating Lotion with SPF 30 is a perfect daily lotion; weightless, protecting, hydrating and great under makeup. Plus even people with sensitive skin can use it. The Daily Exfoliating Cleanser is the perfect one step cleanser and exfoliator than can be used daily for maximum results and benefits. Serum in development will harness the healing properties of the Remedea Compound with the most effective medical grade vitamin C, essential fatty acids and botanicals to achieve brightness, radiance and elasticity.
